This Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) summarizes the various ways that GovernWell Inc. (“GovernWell”, “we”, “our”) treats the Information (as defined below) you provide while using www.governwell.ca (the “Website”). It is our goal to bring you Information that is tailored to your individual needs and, at the same time, to protect your privacy.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. You can access the Privacy Policy any time on the Website. The date of the most recent revisions will appear on this page, so check back often, as we do not undertake any obligation to update you on the changes. In addition to reviewing this Privacy Policy, please read our Terms of Service Agreement.
Your registration on, or continued use of, any aspect of the website will constitute your agreement to this privacy policy, as amended from time to time. For greater certainty, your continued access of the website will constitute your acceptance of any changes or revisions to the privacy policy. If you do not agree with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, you do not have license to use the website and notwithstanding, your continued use shall be deemed to be acceptance of this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy does not cover Information collected elsewhere, including, without limitation, offline and on sites linked to from the Website.
You agree that we may collect, store, and otherwise use your Information as set out below in this Privacy Policy.

The type of Information the Website Collects

  1. We collect identifiable personal Information from all individuals and organizations that sign up with GovernWell and/or any GovernWell-related mailing lists.
  2. Our servers may automatically collect Information about your computer when you visit the Website, including, without limitation, the type of browser software you use, the operating system you are running, the website that referred you, and your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address. Your IP address is usually associated with the place from which you enter the Internet, such as your internet service provider, your company, or your university.
  3. GovernWell may collect Information about you and/or your organization from other sources, such as newspapers, blogs, instant messaging services, and other users of the GovernWell service through the operation of the service.

How the Website Uses Information Provided by You

  1. We use your email, and password to grant you access to and use of the Website. When you select ‘Forgot Password’ on the Website, we will use your e-mail address to send you a link to change your password. We will also use your email to send notifications and messages generated through the use of the application.
    These can be cancelled from within the website. If you provide personal Information, it will be used to provide you with the service you have requested. We may also use the Information to communicate with you about new features, products or services, and/or to improve the services that we offer by tailoring them to your needs.
  2. We may use select Personal Information, although not your name, to generate data, surveys and generic profiles. These unidentifiable profiles may be shared or sold with third parties. In certain cases, we will share Information about and from users with other users; this information will not include your name or any identifiable features.
  3. We may share your Information with third parties, such as integrations, that provide us with services, including, but not limited to, technical maintenance or forums, but only for the purpose of and to the extent we consider necessary to provide those services. While we will seek to require such third parties to follow appropriate privacy policies and will not authorize them to use your personal Information except for the express purpose for which it is provided, we will not bear any responsibility for any actions of third parties, including, without limitation, the use of your personal Information.
  4. We may provide governmental, regulatory, or law enforcement authorities access to your Information in order to cooperate with official investigations or legal proceedings, including, for example, in response to subpoenas, search warrants, court orders or other legal processes.
  5. We reserve the right to use the Information we collect, which may, at times, be able to identify you, for any lawful business purpose, including, without limitation, to help diagnose problems with our servers, to gather broad demographic information, and to otherwise improve or administer our Website.

Data Storage Retention

Your personal data will not be kept for longer than is necessary to fulfill the specific purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and allow us to comply with our legal requirements.

Cookies

  1. We use cookies to track usage patterns on the Website, to deliver editorial content, and to record registration and personalization Information. For example, if you register on any part of the Website and are given the option to save your email and password on your computer, we can provide this convenience to you by placing a cookie on your computer. Our cookies may contain personally identifiable Information and such cookies may be shared with our affiliates and other companies.
  2. If you don’t want any cookies, your Web browser may include an option that allows you to not accept them. However, if you set your browser to refuse cookies, the Website may not function properly.

Information Security and Notification

Since no data transmission over the Internet is completely secure and no system of physical or electronic security is impenetrable, we cannot guarantee the security of any Information you send to us or the security of our servers or databases, and, by using the Website, you agree to assume all risk in connection with the use (either identified in the terms of this Privacy Policy, or as a result of unauthorized use or disclosure) of Information sent to us or collected by us when you use the Website. In the unlikely event that we believe that the security of your Information in our possession or control may have been compromised, we will endeavour to notify you as soon as reasonably practicable, subject, without limitation, to any procedures we deem necessary to confirm that such Information has been compromised and having due regard to any risk, perceived or actual, to you or us that is associated with such communication. If notification is appropriate, we may notify you by e-mail or by phone, provided that we have your e-mail address and/or phone number.

Children's Privacy

The services offered by us are not designed for and are not marketed to minors. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from minors, and we do not knowingly allow such persons to use our services.

Consumer's Rights

Our services give you the ability to access and update certain information about you from within GovernWell. You can update your profile information within your profile settings and modify content that contains information about you using the editing tools associated with that content. If you would like us to update or amend your personal information, please contact us at support@GovernWell.ca and we will make the requested amendments.
